MUSEUM
The African American Heritage Center, Inc. is a museum located in the Franklin's Harristown neighborhood which is on the National Register of Historic Places. This museum is the headquarters for academic research of African American achievements, emphasizing Simpson County accomplishments and also those of the region and state.
. Cultural Conservation projects provide an in-depth look at the development of African American communities in Simpson County. An early account of foodways, burial customs, traditions, religion, education, social life, vital statistics, genealogy and employment is highlighted.
